Here are some picture of Brooke over the weekend, wearing one of her birthday dresses.

To The Park

We went to the park Friday night for Brooke's birthday. The boys had a great time running around chasing their dad and hiding from him. I didn't see the boys too much, but did get a few photos of them.

Brooke stayed in the swings over an hour! She didn't fuss one time and just loved swinging.

What a mischievous little smile!

Birthday Cake

Watching the boys laugh so hard while Brooke ate her cake was so fun. Cole was hilarious. Brooke enjoyed the cake, but didn't care for all that frosting on her fingers.

Happy Birthday, Brooke!

It's hard to believe that a year has passed since God gave us our little girl. I'm thankful for her everyday. He made us wait a while to get our girl, so she's extra special to us. Our little Brooke is so much fun and brings so much joy to our whole family.

I often tease that we should've never told her she is the princess, because she acts like one! For the longest time she would only drink from her sippy cup if you would hold it for her. She expected to be waited on hand and foot, like the little princess that she is. (Thankfully she's finally gotten the hang of drinking from her cup by herself.)

Brooke is going through a new phase. She loves to clap her hands, and will clap anytime you ask her to. It is so adorable I just want to grab her and squeeze her all over again! She is such fun.

I made her a butterfly cake, and am real happy with the way it turned out.
I do not care for this tradition, but David plopped the cake right down in front of her and let her have at it. She was flicking her hands up and down trying to shake all that goopy frosting off. It was cute. The boys sure enjoyed watching Brooke eat cake for the first time.

Some ladies in our church just love my little baby girl. These are some of the pretty dresses that they bought for Brooke. Aren't they gorgeous?

Here's the birthday girl with Nana (David's mom). Did you notice that Brooke's shirt says, "Birthday Girl" on it?
The boys had more fun opening Brooke's presents than she did! They were so excited for her to open presents. I knew that they would love getting the chance to "help" her open her gifts.

Let There Be Praise!

Logan got to sing in junior choir for the first time last week.

He's the cute, little short one on the end.

Piano Lessons

Here's my favorite piano student playing "Lamb At School." Trevor's doing a really good job with his lessons. (He must have a great teacher!) LOL

Sprinkler Fun

The boys pulled the sprinkler out last week and tried cooling off a bit. They had a lot of fun!

Guess they got thirsty!

I WON!

I've been faithfully entering giveaways and internet sweepstakes all year, and believe it or not, it has actually paid off! So far this year I've won a box of Hostess cupcakes and a $200 gift card to Wal-Mart!

The Crafty Tortoise is a crocheting blog that I've been following for quite a while now. Recently she had a giveaway for a hair accessory, and I was the winner! I got my flower hair clip in the mail today and really love it. As a fellow crocheter I was quite impressed with how well made her design is. I threw it in my hair and had the boys take a quick picture for you to see.
So the moral of the story. . . ? Keep on entering those giveaways! :)

Friends

Monday night we drove towards Pittsburgh to spend an evening with some college friends who live there. The Snows live in Ohio and were vacationing in western Pennsylvania. My college roommate Kat had invited them for dinner and called us to see if we'd like to join in the fun. So we piled into our van and took another road trip! (We've been doing a lot of road trips lately!)We had such a good time eating, fellowshipping, eating, playing games, and eating! (Did I mention eating?!?!)

Amy couldn't wait to see me, but Kat was just excited to see Brooke. I guess I can't really blame her, can I?

My little Brooke is trained so well to sleep in her crib. The poor thing was so tired, but just would not sleep without her own bed.
Here are the 4-year-olds: Logan Farley and Isaac Snow.

David couldn't wait to get the men-folk playing ball.
Before they got started they were doing some . . . . well, I don't know what they were doing! Talking, I guess!

Here are the college gals. We haven't changed a bit, have we?

It was fun seeing our oldest boys play basketball with their dads. All of our boys are 8 years old.
Here goes David with a good dribble.

Where Do I Begin?

It's been a little while since I've blogged. Summertime has been keeping our family busy. We've been enjoying the sunny days and time together as a family.

Earlier this week we took a trip to pick up a used transmission for our van. David had called all the nearby junk yards and nobody had what we needed! The closest place we could find a transmission was nearly 2 hours away. So we all loaded up in the truck and took a road trip that day. We had a good time together. Trevor and I sat in the front passenger side and spent the trip trying to get semi-drivers to honk at us. It was a lot of fun, and I may have been enjoying myself even more than Trevor! We got 7 honks on the way there, and 7 on the way home.

Tuesday morning David found this bat up by the church. He must've been sick or dying. Bleck! He brought it to the house for everyone to see. If you got close to the bat it would make a hissing sound. It was good education for the boys, but I'm glad that bat is gone!
The boys got to enjoy a McDonald's playground this week. This one was outdoors and had lots of room for them to run around in.

Aren't these guys cute? I just love these little men of mine.
I had planned to post more pictures, but David has the camera. So for now, this will be a short post for you. Toodle~Loo! :)

The Park

Tonight we drove a ways to go to a neat park in another town. The boys were really excited about going there. These monkey bars are just Logan's size.
About five minutes after we got there it started to rain!
We took shelter under a few little roofs in the park. . .
. . . . but the rain blew in on us anyway!
After the rain let up a bit, we told the boys to go have fun!
And they did!

Brooke and I took shelter in the truck.
When the thunder started Logan joined us.

She's ready to hit the road soon.
That little face is so cute!
She was mighty happy to be in control.
