Stuff

Saturday it snowed here and we got about 10 inches. A man in our church plows the parking lot and our long driveway for us. The kids are just LOVING the big piles of snow that he makes with his plow.

We were getting ready to go outside. Isn't she just adorable?

We were at a birthday party and I was able to catch the boys being still for a few moments!

Cookies

Last Friday I made some sugar cookie dough and let the boys have a go at rolling and decorating the cookies. Here are some pictures from our evening.

David thought we should see if our readers could guess who decorated which cookies? (Is that sentence grammatically correct???) So if you'd like to make a guess, you could post a comment under this post, or in the cbox on the left.

I'm putting this one on here for David. He was quite proud of his Ohio State cookie.

We Tried

The other day I got everyone dressed and ready to take some family Christmas pictures. I was just going to take the pictures at home so it would be a relaxing setting, and we could get things done quickly. Who was I kidding?!?!?! Let's just say it was quite an adventure. I did get a couple of good pictures out of the bunch, but not what I had hoped for. Oh well! I'm going to post some of the "duds" that we took. The photo we decided was a "keeper" is going out in the mail tomorrow.

Looking back on all those little cutie-pies, I can't even see one picture that was a dud! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I love all those cute little faces.

Ice!

Two Sundays ago there was so much ice on the roads around here, we had a low day in church. Since we live behind the church we don't do much driving, and don't have much of an excuse to stay home! Ha! I took care of the nursery that morning since the other ladies couldn't make it, and what do you know? It was just me and my baby Brooke. So I loved on her extra and then did some photos. She was so cute that day in her pretty brown and pink dress.

She was all bundled up here like a little snow-baby.

Trimming the Tree

Now you know my naughty, little secret. We did not go to the tree farm this year. We pulled out the artificial Christmas tree and spent an evening last week putting it together. We're quite happy with our 'fake' tree and the kids had a great time decorating.

The kids were a little bit excited. . .

. . . All except for Brooke!

Hats

I spent some time in Brooke's room with her yesterday. She laid on the floor and kicked her cute feet, while I set about the task of putting away her 3 month baby clothes. It's always a sad task when you put away clothes that no longer fit. But it was fun also, thinking about the times my little darling wore those little outfits.

I came across a lot of hats while I was cleaning things up. Some fit, some don't, some are summer, some are winter, etc. . . . Hats, hats and more hats! I didn't realize we had so many. I had a good time trying some on Brooke and taking photos of her. As usual she was patient with me while I played dress-up with her!

Cole wanted to take this photo. She hasn't had a chance to wear this hat, but she's already outgrown it.

She may grow into this little hat by next summer.
The hoodie on her dress. . .

I made this one! (Could be why it's my personal favorite.)

This hat is so adorable. And look at those pinchable cheeks!

I think this one is getting a wee bit small, Mom!

Trying Out Some Food

I've noticed Brooke watching us while we eat lately. Her lips will smack as she gets a glimpse of the family eating at the table. Today I finally pulled out some baby cereal for her to try. I'm not sure what she thought of it! She ate the first bite fine, but after that she kept pushing the food out of her mouth. I'm going to give it another go later tonight. Then maybe I'll know for sure if she's ready to eat some real food or not.

Snow!

It's snowing! Right now! I wasn't really looking forward to the snow, but now that it's here, I'm having a change of heart. It does make things look so pretty outside. It helps those leafless trees to look so much prettier. Well, the boys were excited to tell us about this snow this morning -- early this morning! (groan) We got up and bundled them up as best we could. They had a fun time outside, but it was brief. Dad is at Wal-Mart now buying hats and gloves so they can have another go at it later this afternoon.

See Cole's socks? On his hands? It was a must that Daddy head to the store for some winter apparel this morning. LOL

A New Discovery

It's amazing the things you forget about babies. Each time Brooke goes through a new stage, I remember the boys doing the same things. How we marvelled when they were able to roll over, or grab a toy. It doesn't ever get old, watching babies learn new things.

Brooke discovered her feet last week. I think she actually found them while we were in Indiana, but this week, she has been exploring these new toys at every opportunity. It's so cute to watch her grab her little toes. This is going to bring a new challenege to diaper changing from now on, because as soon as she lays on that table, her feet come up and her hands reach for her toes.

After getting Brooke dressed, I couldn't resist a few photos of her in her cute little jumper. You can see that she still doesn't want to let go of her feet!
