SDRAWKCAB YAD

No, I'm not losing it! Today is Backwards Day at school. The kids are having spirit week this week and have had a few crazy days so far. Today David and Trevor had so much fun laughing while they were trying to get dressed. I say "trying" because it is quite a feat to button your shirt when the buttons go down the back, or to zip your zipper, if you know what I mean! Here are a few pictures of the men this morning!

Isn't It April???

This is what it looks like outside my front door this morning:

Uh-Oh!

Uh-Oh! The other day I was in Logan's room hanging baby girl clothes in his closet, and getting things put away for our new arrival. Cole & Logan were playing nearby and we had this conversation:

Cole - "Where is the baby girl going to sleep?"

Me - "The baby girl is going to sleep in Logan's room, and Logan gets to have a big bed in the computer room."

Logan - "I don't WANT the baby grill to sleep in my bed! I want my own bed!"

Me - "Logan, we're going to get you a BIG bed and you get to have the BIG BOY bed all to yourself!"

Logan - (As he jumps onto his little toddler bed) "I don't want a big bed! I want THIS bed!"

Up until now, we thought things were smooth sailing for Logan with this transition. We shall see now! Maybe I've been lulled into a false sense of security! Ha! Last night David went and bought a full size mattress set to put in Logan's new room. This room will get a makeover, complete with new bedding, paint and fun decorations for the wall. David was toting in part of the mattress set last night when I told Logan that Daddy was bringing in his new mattress. Logan again insisted that he did NOT want a new mattress! He wants his own mattress! Hopefully Logan will be able to make his move to his new room by next week, so he can adjust before our new bundle arrives!

New Grill

Today we went to Wal-Mart (of course!) and bought ourselves a lean, mean grilling machine. Well, actually it's a large propane grill. We're so excited to use it, but first somebody's going to have to put it together. (Do I have any takers on that one?!?!) And then there's the weather problem. Can you believe we're to expect snow flurries twice this week? If only it was as easy to get nice weather as it is to buy a grill!

27 Weeks

I have only 13 weeks to go in this pregnancy! Wow! It is sure going fast, even for me! Here's part of my weekly e-mail update, just to let you know what our little baby is doing and how she is growing.

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle

Day Spa

Today I celebrated my birthday in style. My darling David bought me a certificate to a day spa for a four-hour pampering. It was wonderful! My toes and fingers are so pretty, and I was just so relaxed. What a perfect gift for an expectant momma! A few times I wished I had the camera with me so you could enjoy my trip too! David would've loved to see green mud on my feet, or hot towels wrapped around my face! Ha!

Horsey Rides

Trevor is such a big boy now! He was giving Logan piggy-back rides the other day.

Jesus Loves Me

And who wouldn't just love this cute little guy???

Bon Fire

David was in his glory tonight. We had a bon fire out in the field by our house. He's been wanting to have a bon fire for a while now, but either rain or life just seemed to get in the way. We had a good time roasting some marshmallows and singing songs out there.

Good Neighbors

We have been blessed with kind neighbors. We only have one neighbor that lives close to us, since we are down a gravel road behind the church. These folks are probably in their late 50's. The other day Bill told my husband that if we need to make a rush to the hospital in the middle of the night, we should feel free to knock on their door. They'll come over and stay in our house with the kids for us. Wasn't that just the nicest thing?!?!?! I'm hoping we don't need to take them up on their offer, since we have many church friends that would be willing to help us out. But it sure was nice for them to say that!

The Gifts

Here are the gifts we got tonight. As you can see, we got a crib mattress, a baby monitor, many clothes, towels, blankets, diapers and more.

Surprise!!!!!

Tonight was a ladies meeting at the church. The ladies surprised me with a baby shower! It was so nice. There were so many ladies there and so many nice gifts. The Lord has really blessed us with a nice church family.

Uniforms

David had a coaching meeting today and he got all the uniforms for his team members. The boys had such a good time putting them on, and it got them really excited about the upcoming soccer season. Of course Logan had to have his picture taken too, even though he's still sporting ketchup on his cheeks from lunch!

Grill

We were out to dinner last night as a family. Logan stood up on his chair and excitedly (and noisily!) said, "Look, Mom! A baby grill! See the baby grill! We're gonna get a new baby grill at our house too!"

Spring Soccer

We signed the boys up for spring soccer this year. It is only 7 weeks long, so hopefully it won't take too much of a toll on the parents! :)They are pretty excited about it. Last night we bought their new shin guards and today they got to try them out. Trevor is pretty excited about the things he already learned this morning.

As an extra bonus, David signed up to coach. He got both of the boys' teams! Cole's team is a bit more laid back, i.e., no goalies, no points, short practices before the game, etc. . . Trevor will have one Thursday practice each week and one game each Saturday.
