Tomorrow we are going to begin our family vacation. . . . with a nice, long 9 hour + drive! Doesn't that sound like fun? Today I am going to Wal-Mart (where else?) to get those last few things to bring on our trip. I'm thinking glow sticks, Matchbox cars and a few other goodies to keep the boys occupied while we drive. Although I'm not particularly looking forward to the long drive, I am looking forward to the time we'll get to spend with David's family. We'll be staying with his brother Bill, and it sounds like he'll have a house full! You probably won't hear from me for a while, but when I come back, I'll have many photos to post, so stay tuned!
Of course, I can't very well make a blog post without posting pictures of my baby girl. Yesterday was an unusual Sunday for us. We went to a friend's home for lunch, and had a delicious meal of roast, veggies, bread and carrot cake. Since we were not home, and had a bit of a drive, Brooke was quite a bit off her normal schedule. She would cat nap for a few minutes, then be up for a long time. She didn't take her normal long afternoon nap but I knew she was tired. I got her all ready for church, then left her in the crib so I could get ready. She quickly fell asleep for another brief cat nap!
After church I needed to practice with some singing groups. Since it's hard to hold a baby and play the piano at the same time, I asked a lady from church to hold on to Brooke. She said Brooke was just sitting contentedly, listening to the music when she finally couldn't take it anymore and just fell asleep. My poor, tired baby fell asleep sitting in this lady's lap. Isn't this picture hilarious?
